Abstract
This year, things were different. What has been true for so many cultural events corona-related since March also applied to the Hörspielpreis der Kriegsblinden in the 69th year of its existence: no on-site meeting of the jury, instead telephone discussions and an online voting procedure; no public award ceremony on-site, instead a podcast available online. A total of 22 entries were up for election, and the three radio plays nominated by the jury for the prize were made public on 28 May (cf. MK announcement). The podcast, which went online on 24 June, made it clear that this year's "Hörspielpreis für Kriegsblinden – Preis für Radiokunst [War Blinded Audio Play Prize - Prize for Radio Art]" went to the author duo Christian Wittmann and Georg Zeitblom for the production "Audio.Space.Machine. Ein Bauhaus-Konzeptalbum [A Bauhaus Concept Album]" (Deutschlandfunk/NDR/SWR in connection with the Interactive Media Foundation). With this, a wonderful audio piece at the height of the acoustic art form prevailed against a generally very strong competition.
