Meryem Vural is a university assistant (prae-doc) at the Department of Legal Theory and Future of Law at the University of Innsbruck since 2021. Her research interest lies in platform regulation.
In her dissertation project, she addresses the question of the legality and legitimacy of status-based special rights regimes in content governance.
In the context of her project "Rechtsfragen der Ungleichbehandlung einflussreicher Sprecher*innen (Influencer*innen) auf Online-Kommunikationsplattformen" [Legal Issues of Inequality in the Treatment of Influential Speakers on Online Communication Platforms], funded by the Early Stage Funding Program of the University of Innsbruck, Meryem Vural is spending a two-week research stay at the HBI. She focuses particularly on the interaction of private and public norms in hybrid communication spaces.
