Open Science Conference 2019 & Bar Camp

Open Science Conference 2019 & Bar Camp

The registration for the 6th International Open Science Conference is now open. The Leibniz Research Alliance Science 2.0 invites you from 19 to 20 March 2019 to Berlin. The event is dedicated to the open science movement and offers researchers and practitioners a unique platform for exchange, discussion and networking on the topic of open science. The event will be hosted by Wikimedia Germany.

The Open Science movement has made substantial progress in recent years and is enjoying growing recognition within the research community. The successes of the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and the FAIR principles for research data are just two examples of this development. Establishing open science practices as a natural component of everyday scientific work, however, remains a major challenge. The Open Science movement is also confronted with negative trends, such as the so-called "predatory science ", which has recently attracted broad public attention. Presentations, hands-on reports and a panel discussion will provide an overview of these current developments.

Bar Camp (18 March 2019)

There will also be a bar camp on the day prior to the conference. It is open to anyone who wants to learn about open science practices or share their experiences on the subject. Researchers and practitioners from different backgrounds are invited to contribute their ideas to the discussion. Previous knowledge of the topic ''Open Science'' is not necessary.

Further information about the program can be found here.
