Immler, Hannah; Hölig, Sascha (2021): Mediennutzung und gesellschaftlicher Zusammenhalt. Zur Rolle von Mediennutzung für das sozialräumliche Verbundenheitsempfinden entlang sozialer Lagen [Media Use and Social Cohesion. On the Role of Media Use for the Socio-Spatial Sense of Connectedness along Social Layers]. In: Communicatio Socialis, 54 (4), pp. 513–525.

Abstract
This paper uses secondary data analyses to examine the extent to which indicators of social location and various media use practices are related to subjectively perceived connectedness with local, national, regional or global communities. The results suggest that different degrees of connectedness can be attributed to age and socio-economic background. In addition, the frequency of use of printed newspapers, social media and television, as well as the type of news received on social media, are explanatory factors for a person's individual connectedness.
