Abstract

The development from a media society to a network society creates scope for more participation, but also changes all communication structures. The formation of public opinion is increasingly influenced by intermediaries such as Google, Facebook or YouTube - characterised by an economically motivated algorithmic logic. Besides participation, propaganda, hate and shit storms can also be the consequences. A climate change?
