M&K Articles Win Awards for the Best Articles 2018

The three best communication science articles of the year 2018 can all be found in our journal "Medien & Kommunikationswissenschaft" [Media & Communication Studies], according to the German Communication Association (DGPuK) at their annual meeting.

Among the awards for outstanding scientific achievements, the DGPuK annually awards a journal award for the best publications in the three journals Publizistik, M&K and SCM supported by the DGPuK.
With the first award for the best journal article in 2018 Stefan Geiß, Melanie Magin, Birgit Stark und Pascal Jürgens für ihren Beitrag "'Common Meeting Ground‘ in Gefahr? Selektionslogiken politischer Informationsquellen und ihr Einfluss auf die Fragmentierung individueller Themenhorizonte ['Common Meeting Ground' at Risk? Selection Logics of Political Information Sources and Their Influence on the Fragmentation of Individual Thematic Horizons]" in M&K 66 (4).

The 2nd place went to Johanna Schindler, Claudia Fortkord, Lone Posthumus, Magdalena Obermaier, Carsten Reinemann und Nayla Fawzi for their article "Woher kommt und wozu führt Medienfeindlichkeit? Zum Zusammenhang von populistischen Einstellungen, Medienfeindlichkeit, negativen Emotionen und Partizipation [Where Does Media Hostility Come from and What Does It Lead to? On the Connection between Populist Attitudes, Media Hostility, Negative Emotions and Participation]" in M&K 66 (3). (available online)

In third place are Hanan Badr und Carola Richter with their article "Kollektive Selbstbestimmung in Autokratien? Agenda-Building im Zusammenspiel von (digitalen) Medien und Aktivisten bei Anti-Folter-Protesten in Ägypten [Collective Self-Determination in Autocracies? Agenda Building in the Interaction of (Digital) Media and Activists in Anti-Torture Protests in Egypt]" in M&K 66 (4).
