Conference Agenda for the AoIR 2016 "Internet Rules!" in Berlin Now Available!

The extensive agenda of the annual conference of the Association of Internet Researchers, hosted by the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society and the Hans-Bredow-Institut for Media Research, is online. The conference will take place at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany on 5 – 8 October 2016. According to the motto “Internet Rules!”, for four days, 500 participants from all over the world will discuss in panels and workshops how power structures as well as formulating and breaking rules work online. There will also be some pre-conferences before José van Dijck (University of Amsterdam) will deliver the opening speech at the AoIR2016.
 
Kate Crawford (Microsoft Research NYC), Fieke Jansen (Tactical Tech) and Christian Sandvig (University of Michigan) will join the only public plenary panel discussion “Who Rules the Internet?”, at the Audimax lecture hall of the Humboldt-Universität, chaired by Cornelius Puschmann.
 
Members of the Hans-Bredow-Institut will also present their research findings at the AoIR 2016 on Thursday (9:00 – 10:30 am and 4:00 – 5:30 pm) and Saturday (2 – 3:30 pm).
