The Audience Turn in Journalism

The international conference “The Audience Turn in Journalism” focuses on audience research. Specifically, it addresses the question of how the digitalisation of journalism has changed and continues to shape news user practices and experiences. For this purpose, the hosts (the University of Amsterdam and the University of Groningen) bring together 50 internationally renowned audience and journalism researchers from different areas to share their expertise and research findings. Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen from the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut participates in the panel “Audiences and Journalists: (How) Do They Know Each Other?”

The conference is the final part of the research project “The New News Consumer”, a collaborative research project of the University of Amsterdam and the University of Groningen.
